Catherine Corcoran best known for her role as Dawn in the cult horror slasher Terrifier is suing the filmmakers over an alleged agreement entitling her to 1% of the franchise’s profits.

According to the complaint, Corcoran accepted the minimum daily rate (about US $100) when she joined the first film in 2016, in exchange for backend profit participation across the entire franchise, including sequels and merchandise. She claims that despite the series’ breakout success — with Terrifier 2 grossing roughly US $15.8 million on a modest budget — she has only received around US $8,000 to date.

The lawsuit also alleges a lack of informed consent for nude filming, unsafe working conditions (including prolonged suspension upside down in a cold and unhygienic location), and a failure to provide a detailed accounting of profits. Director Damien Leone and producer Phil Falcone, both named in the suit, have reportedly denied the allegations through legal representation. David Howard Thornton signed Terrifer

Corcoran’s performance as Dawn Emerson remains one of the franchise’s most iconic elements. Her shocking upside-down death scene marks a brutal turning point in the film, instantly solidifying Terrifier’s reputation among horror fans and giving Art the Clown one of his most infamous on-screen kills.
